It will set your new hit point value and add any CON bonus you have.ĭoing the same thing for Race, will produce something like this (for a Dwarf):

medium armor, shields' added to 'Bobarian'.įeature 'Unarmored Defense' added to 'Bobarian'. Proficiency 'Weapon: Simple weapons, martial weapons' added to 'Bobarian'. For instance, instead of typing in Barbarian, you can now drag the Barbarian class to the Class & Level portion of your character sheet and it will add a level of that class and automatically copy over several of the features and abilities up through that level.įor instance, if you create a new character called Bobarian (the barbarian), doing that for 1st level will report back the following: There are a few things which have been newly automated within the 5E ruleset to assist in the process if you have the optional D&D Class Pack modules for Fifth Edition D&D. You can further customize it to handle any unique feats or abilities you have. Once characters are built, however, you'll be able to drag and drop weapons and spells to them and have it preset their default values. It allows you to represent nearly any character sheet you could in a P&P game, but it isn't meant as a character builder application. There is almost zero validation for character sheets inside of Fantasy Grounds. Am I doing something wrong and missing on some feature? So far the tutorial video haven't enlightened me.

I've seen excel spreadsheet with better functionalities then that when it comes to assisting in creating characters. Same for magic weapons and armor whose effects on the combat stats must be added manually.Īnd if it comes to class features (i.e Rage, Turn undead.), there isn't a click and drag available, I have to write everything.Īnd there's nothing warning me if I used too many points and feats or if I still have some available. I can click and drag a feat like alertness from the library onto the character sheet and it'll copy all the information but the system will not then automatically add a +2 to Perception and Sense motive, I must do it myself and also remember that once I get to 10 ranks I'll have to manually increase it to +4 because it's obvious the system won't do it. I need to actually write 'Barbarian' in the class Tab, at which point I need to enter the proper BAB for the level, saves modifiers, class skills etc. For example I can't just pick a class and have everything tied to the class calculated. not so much.īut I must be doing something wrong! By the look of it I have to enter nearly every information in the character sheet with very little automatic calculations done by the system beyond stat modidiers effects. I have only scratched the surface and I really like what I see on the campaign management front of the application but on character creation.
